How to Play No Where To Go

Your ship flies forward on its own; you steer it through the asteroid field and try to fly further than last time. Here is everything you need to know, from the controls to the results screen.

The goal

The path through space never ends, and the speed keeps rising the further you go. Tumbling rocks fill the way ahead, and collisions between them knock new pieces toward you. Steer through the gaps, use boost when you dare, and see how far you can get.

Controls

DeviceHow to fly
MouseMove the mouse; the ship follows the pointer.
Keyboard↑ ↓ ← → or W A S D to steer. Hold Shift to boost.
TouchDrag anywhere on the screen to steer. Hold the BOOST button (bottom right) to go faster.
TiltTilt your phone or tablet to steer (turn it on in Settings, where the device supports it).

Other keys

Playing on a phone or tablet

The game plays in landscape mode. Turn your phone sideways; on Android, the first tap also switches to full screen. If the phone is held upright, the game is drawn sideways so it still fills the screen. Adding the game to your home screen gives you a full-screen app that also works offline.

Lives and the results screen

Each flight comes with several lives (three by default). When the ship hits a rock, it breaks apart, and if you have a life left it carries on from the place where it crashed, with a moment of protection to get clear. When the last life is gone, the results screen shows how far you flew, your best distance, the flight time, your top speed, how many lives you used, how much of the flight the autopilot flew, and your discoveries. Your records are kept in your browser.

Autopilot

Press Q or tap the autopilot button and the ship flies itself, steering around the rocks ahead. It is a good way to sit back and look at the scenery. Press Q again, or tap the button, to take the controls back. The results screen shows how much of the distance the autopilot flew.

Choosing a ship

Pick one of five ships before you fly: Fighter, Courier, Interceptor, Scout or Explorer. Each has its own collision shape, so the size of the ship matters when the gaps get tight. More about the ships is on the About page.

Settings

Open Settings from the front screen or the pause menu to change graphics quality, control type, steering sensitivity, camera lean, music style and volumes, and the story. Speed can be shown in km/h, mph, m/s, km/s or knots, and distance in kilometres, miles, metres or nautical miles. While the game is paused or Settings is open, time in space stands still.

Tips for flying further

Frequently asked questions

Does the game end?

The path is endless. A flight ends when you have used all your lives; the goal is to beat your best distance.

Is my progress saved?

Your settings, records and discovery log are saved in your own browser on this device. There is no account, so they don't move between devices, and clearing your browser data removes them.

Can I play without a mouse?

Yes. The keyboard alone is enough on a computer, and on touch screens you only need a finger (or tilt).
